Starting a new design can be exciting or challenging. The deciding factor with this is usually the logo of the company, as it sets the scene for the whole design. But what if it is a new company and part of the project is to create a logo?
Being able to create the logo for a company as well as a design for the site gives a huge amount of freedom, but can also take longer to get an idea. Where to start? There are some helpful design portfolio sites that can be helpful to get the creative juices flowing. Here are a few I find helpful:
Once the creative mind is working it is then helpful to get a pen and paper and arrange the layout of the design. After that, hopefully the design just flows. But there is one important thing to remember. Attention to detail matters. If it is possible, try to give the design some personality. A current project of mine is one where personality and fun is part of the brief. This in turn makes designing it fun, and the fact that it has very little constraints on it, I feel provides me with a challenge and passion to make it the best it can be. Hopefully the finished result is a success.
