How do you improve your website?
What does improving really mean?
Improving your web site should be all about ensuring you get better results from it.
What type of results? That depends on what your web site is designed to do, unless it is designed to win a web design award it should be designed to meet an end goal.
What sort of goals?
Here are some possible goals: leads, sales, information requests, downloads, views, subscriptions etc.
There are a range of different goals that could be relevant to your web site (we don’t know, because we haven’t seen it yet). So the first steps are to clearly outline what you are supposed to be achieving.
How well is your website performing now?
We will start with looking at your current statistics, and then based on those – recommend different ways to gather additional information.
Using advanced analytics, feedback tools and usability testing we will review how to reach your goals and then provide recommendations.
Much of this fits into what we call Conversion Optimisation, but equally important when looking at improving your site are factors such as usability and functionality (ensuring your site is easy to use), load times, construction, search engine optimisation and your ability to manage the web site.
If you are looking to add new tools to your web site then consider how they fit into your Web Strategy so that you are not just adding them because you saw them somewhere else. Everything you do on your website should have a good reason, and should be measurable.
