The Power of Twitter for Website Designers

I'm not what you would call an early adopter. I only found out about twitter roughly 4 months ago, if that. However, I did a bit of Google surfing and found several posts on good designers to follow on Twitter (see below for 10 of the most insightful designers I follow).
I had my list so off I went and started following around 40 designers, web developers, graphic designers, and other professionals in the industry. I immediately started to see the power of twitter. Other professionals around the world sharing ideas, blog posts, gaining feedback on designs, projects and other topics that would come up during the day. As in most things I find interesting, I got addicted. Checking twitter every night, going back over the tweets for the day, installing addons to link facebook & firefox to twitter.
These tweets were keeping me up-to-date with the happenings in the world of design, and suddenly gave me a huge pool of great minds for feedback on new designs, new projects and constructive criticism.
This to me is the true power of twitter... Community!
