Helping our Future Generation

Ireckon recently presented at Forest Lake State High School's My Futures Expo, a career expo aimed at helping Year 10 kids make subject selections for Years 11 and 12 that will help with their career choice.

The day was attended by our CEO Darryl King and General Manager, Narelle Richardson, and comprised of us giving a series of 20 minute presentations on the IT industry to the students, looking at 5 different careers within the industry - web designing, programming, systems analysing, systems administration, and search engine optimisation. We also gave the students some insight into what employers are looking for in employees.

Throughout the sessions we presented to over 100 kids, a few of them familiar faces we had met at a recent school assembly when we became a Champion Business Sponsor of their Year 10 Leadership Program - Vision.

At ireckon we feel strongly about supporting the youth of today, as they are our future generation, and we hope that we've helped at least a few of the kids decide they want to head down the IT path for their future careers. We look forward to presenting again next year.
