Messenger News' new website reaching the community
19Apr07
Messenger Community News is reaching out to their community through the launch of their newly designed website.
Messenger News has been providing community news throughout Adelaide’s metropolitan area since 1951. Part of the national network of 98 News Limited Community Newspapers, Messenger News offers 11 community newspapers, plus a monthly lifestyle magazine, Adelaide Matters.
Although Messenger News already had a website, they were looking for a new site that would cater for their community and looked to ireckon to deliver their online solution. Having already designed new websites for other News Limited Community newspapers, including Quest News, Townsville Bulletin, Gold Coast Bulletin, Cairns Post, Leader Newspapers, The Geelong Advertiser, and Cumberland Newspapers, ireckon we were able to provide Messenger News with a new website design that meets their needs.
Differing from most newspapers sites that are designed around mastheads, Messenger News new website has been designed around five community regions. Each region incorporates numerous mastheads and offers the community the chance to read what is happening in their local region.
The new website design allows for community feedback and readers can upload their own photos, add tips for stories, and request an event to appear in the community diary, or send in local sports results.
The new website uses ireckon’s ARK Content Management System. ARK CMS has been designed to allow users to upload content to their website without the need for technical expertise. Messenger’s editors and journalists are able to access and upload stories in ARK CMS from any computer with internet access, allowing the ability for news stories to appear as and when they happen.
Visit Messenger Community News to see what is happening in the local metropolitan areas of Adelaide.
